most probably out of anger because he tried to stop her from comitting lovers suicide with kikuhiko. i think she had the knife on her the entire time while in the room with kikuhiko, and there is some truth in the “fake” version of the story the yakumo told us. she was planning on jumping off with kikuhiko so they can be together in the afterlife but was interrupted by shin-san. from the start she had always been jealous of sukeroku’s close proximity with kikuhiko and most probably believed even until the end he will get in the way of her love.

but it’s weird how both of them were getting along really well in the afterlife… hmm just my two cents though
